Sam Cohen joined Rio Tinto as Chief of Staff to the global Chief Executive Officer in January 2023. Previously, Sam was Deputy and Assistant Private Secretary to Her Majesty The Queen since 2011. Before this she was Head of Royal Communications at Buckingham Palace. Sam joined the Royal Household in 2001 following a career working for the Australian government and the private sector in the UK. Sam was appointed Commander of the Royal Victoria Order in 2016 and Officer of the Order of the British Empire (OBE) in 2023. She is married with three children.
